{"id":9815,"date":"2024-09-19T09:39:18","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T04:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=9815"},"modified":"2025-10-13T11:07:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T05:37:24","slug":"next-gen-launch-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/next-gen-launch-vehicle\/","title":{"rendered":"Next-Gen Launch Vehicle"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Next Generation Launch Vehicle:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It will have <strong>3 times the present payload capability<\/strong> with 1.5 times the cost compared to <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/lvm3-gslv-mk3\/\" target=\"_blank\">LVM3<\/a>, and will also <strong>have reusability<\/strong> resulting in low-cost access to space and <strong>modular green propulsion systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The development of the NGLV is taken up which is designed to have a maximum payload capability of <strong>30 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit<\/strong>, which also has a reusable first stage.<\/li>\n<li>This development project will be implemented with maximal participation from the Indian industry, which is also expected to invest in the manufacturing capacity at the outset itself, thereby allowing a seamless transition to the operational phase subsequent to the development.<\/li>\n<li>NGLV will be demonstrated with <strong>three development flights<\/strong> (D1, D2 &amp; D3) with a <strong>target of 96 months<\/strong> (8 years) for the completion of the development phase.<\/li>\n<li>The total fund approved is Rs. 8240.00 Crore and includes the development costs, three developmental flights, essential facility establishment, Programme Management and Launch Campaign.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It will enable <strong>national &amp; commercial missions<\/strong> including launch of human spaceflight missions to Bharatiya Antariksh Station.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lunar\/inter-planetary exploration<\/strong> missions along with communication &amp; earth observation satellite constellations to Low Earth Orbit that will benefit the entire space ecosystem in the country.<\/li>\n<li>This project will boost the Indian space ecosystem in terms of capability and capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM3)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is India&#8217;s most powerful launcher built entirely with domestic technology.
