Scientists say this feature may <\/span><b>aid feeding or territorial behaviour.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These frogs are <\/span><b>found across South and Southeast Asia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and are known for their unusual breeding habits.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new species has been placed within the <\/span><b>genus Limnonectes,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which now counts <\/span><b>six known species in India.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike most frogs that lay eggs in water or on leaves, this species <\/span><b>builds a nest out of mud beneath leaf litter on the forest floor.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is a behaviour not previously recorded in this group from India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The frog also has a <\/span><b>distinct appearanc<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e.
