plans to introduce a female cheetah to the Gandhi Sagar wildlife sanctuary.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Location:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is situated in <\/span><b>northwestern Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, along the Madhya Pradesh-Rajasthan border and lies within <\/span><b>the Khathiar-Gir dry deciduous forests ecoregion.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Key features:<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was declared a sanctuary in 1974, covering an area of 368 sq. km.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Rivers:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>Chambal River<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> flows through the sanctuary, dividing it into two parts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a designated <\/span><b>Important Bird and Biodiversity Area<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IBA).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sanctuary houses sites of historical and archaeological significance, such as Chaurasigarh, Chaturbhujnath Temple, Bhadkaji rock paintings, Hinglajgarh Fort,and Taxakeshwar Temple.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Topography and Vegetation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The sanctuary includes hills, plateaus, and the catchment area of the Gandhi Sagar Dam.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vegetation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Northern tropical dry deciduous forest, Northern tropical dry mixed deciduous forest, Dry deciduous scrub.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Flora:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It mainly consists of Khair, Salai, Kardhai, Dhawda, Tendu, and Palash trees.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fauna:<\/b><span
