Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research(INSPIRE) is a scheme sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology for attracting talented people towards science. The programme will focus on increasing the research and development and build a human resource pool that would solidify science and technology.
The INSPIRE Scheme aims to attract young talent toward pursuing research as a career by leveraging the existing educational structure for talent identification, without conducting any competitive exams. Covering meritorious youth from school to university levels, the scheme supports those interested in studying science and choosing scientific research as a career. It facilitates human capacity building through scholarships, fellowships, and research exposure, enabling students to develop their skills and pursue opportunities in scientific research.
The INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) scheme aims to inspire and engage youth in the excitement of science. It attracts and nurtures talented students to pursue basic and natural sciences at the college and university levels, with a focus on research careers in fields like engineering, medicine, agriculture, and veterinary sciences. This is achieved through the following components:
Through these components, the INSPIRE scheme aims to create a robust ecosystem for cultivating future leaders in scientific research.
Following are the details of INSPIRE Scheme components:
