Tracing back the Roots

Recognizing the challenges faced by students from South Indian states when preparing for UPSC exams in Delhi, Mr. Arjun Ravindran, who joined as Director in 2010, spearheaded the establishment of Vajiram and Ravi South Centre in Chennai in 2020.

In acknowledgment of its Tamil Nadu roots and commitment to supporting aspiring civil servants from the region, Vajiram and Ravi has introduced a scholarship scheme for its Chennai Centre, aiming to identify academically meritorious candidates with a sincere aspiration to excel in the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Scholarship Details

Vajiram and Ravi is conducting a Scholarship test for General Studies foundation course 2024-25, for its Chennai Centre to identify academically meritorious candidates who have serious intent to prepare for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025/2026.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS- for General Studies Foundation Course at its Chennai Centre

Rank 1 to 10	90% scholarship (worth Rs.1,44,000/-)
Rank 11 to 20	75% scholarship (worth Rs.1,20,000/-)
Rank 21 to 30	50% scholarship (worth Rs.80,000/-)
Rank 31 to 50	25% scholarship (worth Rs.40,000/-)

All other rank holders above Rank 50 can avail 10% discount (16,000/-)

How to Apply?

Eligibility Criteria	All students of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Pondicherry (above 21 years of age) who are appearing for CSE 2025 / 2026 are eligible to appear for the scholarship test.
Application Date	Students can apply for the scholarship test till 20 May 2024.
Exam Date	Preliminary Test (MCQ test) – May 26, 2024, Preliminary results on May 29. Personality Test – June 1 & June 2, 2024, final results on June 3.
How to Apply	Application to be submitted through google form Vajiram & Ravi website (online).
Exam Centre & Mode of Exam	Preliminary Test (MCQ test) on May 26, 2024, in offline mode at Vajiram and Ravi, Anna Nagar Branch, Chennai, South Centre and in test centers in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Pondicherry, Coimbatore, Salem, and Madurai. Personality Test will be conducted on June 1 & June 2, only at Vajiram and Ravi, Chennai Centre.
Examination pattern	Preliminary test based on General Studies and CSAT (40+10 questions). General studies include subjects – Indian History, Polity, Geography, Economics (NCERT level). CSAT syllabus includes Reading Comprehension and Aptitude. Personality Test - For top 100 selected candidates from preliminary test cutoff marks.
Selection procedure	Top 100 prelim toppers’ are selected based on preliminary test marks. Selected Top 100 candidates (based on preliminary test cutoff marks) will be called for the Personality Test to select first 50 rank holders.

Results date

Preliminary marks for all candidates will be officially released on the website and at Vajiram and Ravi Chennai Centre on May 29th.
Final results for all candidates will be officially announced on the website and at Vajiram and Ravi Chennai Centre on June 3rd.
The selection process and list of chosen candidates by Vajiram and Ravi are deemed final.
Vajiram and Ravi's selection process prioritizes gender balance and fair representation.
The GS Foundation Course is scheduled to commence on June 9th, 2024, and July 19th
