Q1: What is Rosewood?
Rosewood refers to several different tree species from the genus Dalbergia. Some common varieties used for furniture include Brazilian rosewood, Indian rosewood, and Madagascar rosewood. All rosewood trees have dark, richly colored heartwood that develops distinctive streaks and patterns as the tree ages. The wood has a close, even grain and a lovely smell reminiscent of incense when freshly cut.
