{"id":25136,"date":"2026-05-21T16:36:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/?p=25136"},"modified":"2026-05-21T17:31:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T12:01:56","slug":"upsc-introduces-3-new-exam-centres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/upsc-introduces-3-new-exam-centres\/","title":{"rendered":"UPSC Introduces 3 New Exam Centres, Kanpur, Meerut and Bhubaneswar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Following several recent reforms such as the release of provisional answer keys after the Preliminary Examination and improved accessibility measures for PwBD candidates, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has now introduced three new examination centres for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2><b>3 New Exam Centres for UPSC Prelims 2026<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This year, the <\/span><b>Union Public Service Commission has received more than 8.19 lakh applications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026, making it <\/span><b>one of the largest competitive examinations in the country. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Therefore, the Commission has introduced three <\/span><b>new examination centres to decongest existing centres<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and make the examination process more accessible and candidate-friendly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The newly added <\/span><b>centres are Kanpur, Meerut, and Bhubaneswar.<\/b><\/li>\r\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the addition of these centres, the total number of <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/upsc-exam\/upsc-prelims\/\" target=\"_blank\">UPSC Prelims<\/a> centres has increased from 80 to 83.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\r\n\t<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to UPSC, nearly 23,000 candidates have opted for the new centres, helping <\/span><b>reduce pressure on nearby centres such as Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and Cuttack.<\/b><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2><b>Measures for PwBD Candidates<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The UPSC has also strengthened support for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Under a revised mechanism, <\/span><b>PwBD candidates were ensured their preferred examination centres, even if additional capacity had to be created.<\/b><\/p>\r\n<h2><b>New Feature in UPSC Application Form<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Commission also introduced a <\/span><b>dropdown option in the application form,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> allowing aspirants to indicate their preferred nearby cities.
