The Advocate General of State represents the State in legal proceedings in the Supreme Court of India and the High Court.<\/p>\r\n<p>Functioning similarly to the\u00a0Attorney General of India, the responsibilities of the Advocate General of State are further defined in\u00a0<strong>Articles 165 and 177\u00a0<\/strong>of the Constitution. In this capacity, the Advocate General of State is pivotal in safeguarding the rule of law and advising the government on critical legal matters.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Advocate General of State Constitutional Provision<\/h2>\r\n<p>The Advocate General of State, as part of the State Executive, holds the position of the<strong>\u00a0state\u2019s highest-ranking legal officer<\/strong>. Together with appointed Law Officers, the Advocate General primarily handles cases for the state government in the High Court. This includes being an Indian citizen and having either held a\u00a0<strong>judicial office for ten years\u00a0<\/strong>or practiced as an advocate in a High Court for ten years.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>Remuneration<\/strong>: The Constitution does not specify the remuneration of the Advocate General of State. Additionally, he\/she is not prohibited from engaging in private legal practice. Following are the rights of Advocate General of State:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>The Advocate General of the State has the\u00a0<strong>right to speak<\/strong>\u00a0and participate in the proceedings of both Houses of the state legislature.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>He\/She can also take part in any committee of the legislature to which he may be appointed as a member.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>However, the Advocate General of State does<strong>\u00a0not have the right to vote<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Furthermore, he\/she is entitled to all the privileges and immunities granted to members of the state legislature.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h3>Advocate General of State Limitations<\/h3>\r\n<p>The Advocate General of the State faces certain limitations to prevent conflicts of interest and duty.
