Why in News?
The 22nd edition of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026, the India-US joint military exercise, commenced in September 2026. The exercise is being conducted at Auli Foreign Training Node in Uttarakhand and Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.
The exercise focuses on improving the ability of the Indian and US armies to conduct joint operations, particularly in mountainous and semi-mountainous terrain. It also includes training involving drones, autonomous systems, modern weapons and multi-domain warfare.
What is Exercise Yudh Abhyas?
Exercise Yudh Abhyas is an annual bilateral military exercise between the Indian Army and the US Army.
