India has introduced IS 19445:2025, the first national standard for evaluating bomb disposal systems. The standard has been issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) to create a uniform framework for testing, certification, and procurement of bomb disposal equipment used by defence, police, and civilian agencies.

Bomb disposal systems such as bomb blankets, bomb baskets, and bomb inhibitors are widely used to reduce the impact of explosions and protect security personnel and civilians.
