• National Waterway 2 is an important inland waterway located in Assam. It covers an 891-km stretch of the Brahmaputra River, running from Sadiya in eastern Assam to Dhubri near the Bangladesh border. The stretch was declared a National Waterway on 1 September 1988.
• The waterway passes through important locations such as Dibrugarh, Neamati and Pandu (Guwahati) and provides a navigable route across the Brahmaputra valley. The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is responsible for its development and maintenance.
