  • Acts as the natural watershed between the Beas River and Chenab River basins.

  • The Chenab River is formed by the confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers in the Lahaul region beyond the pass.
  • The Ravi River rises to the west of Rohtang Pass in the Kullu hills of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Receives heavy snowfall during winter, leading to seasonal closure.
  • It is a popular destination for snow sports, trekking, and tourism.
