10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026, Farmers, Income

The 10th National Convention of Agrivision was held on 13-14 October 2026 at the ICAR-National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Pusa, New Delhi, to discuss agricultural education, modern farming technologies, entrepreneurship and farmers’ welfare.

About the 10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026

The 10th National Convention of Agrivision brought together students, scientists, policymakers, agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers to discuss the future of Indian agriculture.

• It was organised under the aegis of Agrivision and the Agricultural Education Division of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
• Around 450 students from agriculture and allied sciences, representing 25 states, participated in the convention.
• The inaugural session was attended by Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director General of ICAR.
• Other participants included senior ICAR officials, agricultural scientists and the vice-chancellors of Central Agricultural University, Imphal, and Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University.

10th National Convention of Agrivision 2026 Key Highlights 

The 10th National Convention of Agrivision focused on improving farmers’ incomes, promoting modern technologies and creating new opportunities in agriculture.

• Market-oriented agriculture: Aligning crop production with market demand and improving marketing and value addition to increase farmers’ incomes.
• Agricultural diversification: Combining food-grain cultivation with horticulture, medicinal plants, animal husbandry, fisheries, beekeeping and natural farming to create additional sources of income.
• Modern farming technologies: Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning and robotics to improve farm efficiency and productivity.
• Agricultural education and entrepreneurship: Encouraging students to pursue careers in agricultural research, teaching, extension services and entrepreneurship.
• Regulation of agricultural institutions: Announcing plans to establish an Agriculture Council to monitor private agricultural colleges and address concerns about poor standards and fake degrees.
• Growth in food production: The Agriculture Minister stated that India’s food production increased by 49% between 2014 and 2024. He also highlighted India’s position as the world’s largest rice producer.
• Agrivision’s 10-year journey: Releasing a special booklet documenting the organisation’s decade-long journey.
