Dadasaheb Phalke Award Winners
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, introduced in 1969, is the highest honour in Indian cinema. It is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, the visionary behind India’s first feature film, Raja Harishchandra, released in 1913. The award symbolises excellence in filmmaking and is given to individuals who have significantly contributed to Indian cinema. Winners receive a Golden Lotus medallion, a shawl, and ₹10 lakh as a cash prize.
