Conservation Reserves Challenges
Conservation reserves face several administrative, ecological and socio-economic challenges despite their ecological importance.
- Habitat fragmentation: Roads, railways, mining, industries and settlements can disrupt ecological connectivity.
- Human-wildlife conflict: As wildlife moves through shared landscapes, conflicts involving crop damage, livestock predation and human safety may increase.
- Infrastructure pressure: Linear infrastructure can fragment corridors and create barriers to animal movement.
