- Bharat Mandapam will host the 18th BRICS Summit 2026 on 12-13 September 2026 in New Delhi. India is hosting the summit as the BRICS Chair for 2026.
- The BRICS Business Forum is scheduled to take place at Bharat Mandapam on 11 September 2026, along with a meeting of the Women’s Business Alliance.
- India’s BRICS chairship in 2026 is guided by the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, reflecting the broader vision of “Humanity First.”
- According to the Ministry of External Affairs, more than 350 meetings and high-level engagements have been organised across more than 25 Indian cities during India’s BRICS chairship.

- Bharat Mandapam is the name given to the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
- The complex is one of India’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destinations, with modern facilities for international exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences and other major events.
- The IECC complex covers an area of approximately 123 acres and was developed as a national project at a cost of around ₹2,700 crore.
- It includes several state-of-the-art facilities such as a Convention Centre, exhibition halls and an amphitheatre, making it suitable for events of different sizes and purposes.
- The Convention Centre serves as the centrepiece of the Pragati Maidan complex and is designed to host large-scale international conferences, conventions, exhibitions and business events.
- The complex was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 July 2023. During the inauguration, the Prime Minister also unveiled the G20 coin and G20 stamp.

- The main Convention Centre building is inspired by the shape of a Shankha (conch shell), giving the structure a distinctive connection with Indian traditions.

- The complex also incorporates the concept of Pancha Mahabhuta – Aakash (Sky), Vayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Jal (Water) and Prithvi (Earth), representing the five basic elements of nature.
- The Convention Centre is decorated with paintings and tribal art forms from different parts of India, adding to its cultural character.
