Answer (Detailed Solution Below)

Option 1: 1 only

Detailed Solution

Explanation:

  • Amil was an officer in charge of land revenue and other taxes in the administration of the Delhi Sultanate. So, statement 1 is correct.

  • Khalji and Tughluq monarchs appointed military commanders as governors of territories of varying sizes. These lands/territories were called Iqta and their holder was called Iqtadar or Muqti. The duty of the Iqtadar was to lead military campaigns and maintain law and order in their Iqtas. So, statement 2 is not correct.

  • The office of ‘Mir Bakshi’ came into existence during the reign of Mughal rulers. Military administration in the Mughal empire was headed by Mir Bakshi. He was also considered the head of the nobility. Recommendations for appointment to mansabs, promotions, etc, were made to the emperor through Mir Bakshi. So, statement 3 is not correct.
