- In July 1943, Subhash Chandra Bose got control and leadership of the Indian Independence League and Indian National Army. INA battalion commanded by Shah Nawaz Khan participated in the Imphal campaign which was undertaken by the Japanese Army on the Indo-Burma front. They crossed the Burma border and INA also carried out military administration duties at Moirang, India, but then the Allied forces reclaimed the territory. August 15, 1945, the surrender of Japan in the Second World War took place, and with this, the INA also surrendered.
