  • Ambala Air Force Station, Haryana

Ambala has the oldest Air Force Station strategically located around 220 km away from the India-Pakistan border. Ambala Air Force station is the first squadron of Dassault Rafale combat aircraft. 

  1. Adampur AFS, Punjab
    India’s second-largest airbase, close to the Pakistan border. Played a vital role in the 1965 and 1971 wars and houses MiG-29 squadrons along with one of Asia’s biggest underground hangars.
  2. Hindon AFS, Uttar Pradesh
    A key logistics and transport hub, home to aircraft like the C-130J Super Hercules. It ensures rapid deployment of troops and supplies during emergencies.
  3. Leh AFS, Ladakh
    Located at high altitude, this base is vital for maintaining air dominance and supporting operations in the tough terrain of northern India.
  4. Gwalior AFS, Madhya Pradesh
    Home to the Air Force Test Pilot School, it excels in fighter training, research, and evaluation for advanced air operations.
