In December 2014, Russia and India signed the Strategic Vision for strengthening cooperation in peaceful uses of atomic energy. Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) is being built in India with Russian cooperation. KKNPP Units 1 and 2 have already become operational and Units 3 & 4 are under construction. Credit Protocol for Units 5 & 6 was signed during the 18th Bilateral Summit and technical evaluation of the 2nd site is currently going on.
