The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an important update regarding the Correction Window and Service Preference changes for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026. This update provides candidates with additional flexibility to rectify mistakes in their application forms and revise service preferences at a later stage of the recruitment process. Candidates preparing for prestigious services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and other Group A and B services must carefully understand these updates to avoid any errors during the application process.
The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026 application process is scheduled to remain open from 04 February 2026 to 24 February 2026. Candidates must ensure they submit accurate details within this period and utilize the correction facility if required.
UPSC Correction Window 2026 New Update
The UPSC has introduced a Correction Window facility to help candidates make necessary changes after submitting their application forms. This step ensures transparency and provides candidates an opportunity to correct errors that might otherwise lead to rejection of the application.
- UPSC will provide a Correction Window of three (03) days after the closure of the application process.
- The application window for UPSC CSE 2026 will close on 24 February 2026, and the correction window will open after the closing date.
- Candidates can edit specific details in their application forms during this period.
- This facility applies to both:
- Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026
- Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 through CS(P) Examination, 2026
Importance of the Correction Window
- Helps candidates rectify mistakes in personal or academic details.
- Prevents application rejection due to incorrect information.
- Provides candidates a final opportunity to ensure accuracy before the examination process begins.
- Reduces stress and confusion during later stages of the recruitment process.
