  • The Global Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture is a voluntary alliance of partners, dedicated to addressing the challenges facing food security and agriculture by tapping the wealth and diversity of resources, knowledge, information and expertise, from and between its members, in order to stimulate concrete initiatives at all levels

  • The concept of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) was originally developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and officially presented at the Hague Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change in 2010. So, statement 1 is not correct.

  •  GACSA is a voluntary coalition open to governments, international and regional organizations, institutions, civil society, farmers’ organizations and businesses who subscribe to the vision and objectives of the Alliance. Membership in the Alliance does not create any binding obligations and each member individually determines the nature of its participation. So, statement 2 is correct.

  • Some of the Indian NGOs and the Department of Botany, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan are its member however India was not instrumental in the creation of GACSA. So, statement 3 is not correct.
