  • About
    • The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a government initiative being undertaken across the country, to raise awareness about and track the implementation of flagship central schemes.
    • These schemes include programmes like Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Surkasha Bima, PM SVANidhi, etc.
  • Aims
    • Reach out to the vulnerable who are eligible under various schemes but have not availed benefit so far;
    • Dissemination of information and generating awareness about schemes;
    • Interaction with beneficiaries of government schemes through their personal stories/ experience sharing; and
    • Enrolment of potential beneficiaries through details ascertained during the Yatra.

    • The programme is being undertaken with the active involvement of various Union ministries and state governments.

    • According to the government’s PIB:
      • In a short span of just one month, the Yatra has reached more than 2.50 crore citizens across 68,000 Gram Panchayats (GPs) in the country;
      • nearly 2 crore individuals have taken Viksit Bharat Sankalp; and
      • over 2 Crore beneficiaries of Central Government Schemes have shared their experiences under ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ initiative.

  • Main goal of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY)
    • To ensure that government schemes reached all deserving people.
    • He said the drive recently completed 50 days and had connected with about 11 crore people.
  • Government is reaching the doorsteps of the beneficiaries
    • The poor people who spent their lives waiting to get the benefits of government schemes are seeing a meaningful change today.
    • The government is reaching the doorsteps of the beneficiaries and proactively providing the benefits.
    • He said that the doctors were reaching the doorsteps of the poor, Dalits, the deprived and the tribals, which was considered a challenge.
  • Highlighted the achievements of this drive
    • Since the drive was launched, about 12 lakh new applications for Ujjwala connections were received along with lakhs of applications for Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, PM SVANidhi.
    • Health checkups for over two crore people had been carried out so far, including one crore TB and 22 lakh sickle cell checkups.
  • Highlighted the government’s impact on women’s empowerment
    • The Prime Minister also highlighted the government’s impact on women’s empowerment through schemes like the Mudra Yojna, and their role as Bank Mitras, Pashu Sakhis, and Asha workers.
    • In the past decade, 10 crore women had joined self-help groups, where over ₹7.50 lakh crore had been provided to them.
    • He said the government has planned to further increase the number of such beneficiaries to two crore, via programmes like ‘NaMo Drone Didi Scheme’.
      • The scheme aims to provide drones to 15,000 women Self Help Groups (SHGs) during the period 2024-25 to 2025-2026 for providing rental services to farmers for agriculture purposes.
      • It seeks to empower women SHGs and bring in new technologies through drone services in the agriculture sector.
